There are builders in your city right now, actually shipping things with AI, and most of them have never met each other. That gap — between a city full of builders and a city with a room to build in — is the whole job of a City Lead.

We want more City Leads. This is us asking, plainly. It's open all month, it's online, and the city is up to you.

What this is

An open call, not a webinar. Register, and we'll tell you what a City Lead actually does, what you get, and what it costs you. Then you decide. No pitch.

What a City Lead actually does

• Runs Build Club events in your city, on a cadence you can keep.
• Picks the format that fits your city — coffee co-working, build nights, demo nights, hands-on workshops, dinners, drinks, hackathons. Start simple, scale when the room fills.
• Writes a short report after each event, so the team knows what happened and can back you.
• Keeps a local channel alive between events.
• Introduces people to each other. That's most of the job.

What you get

• The Build Club name, the brand assets, and event covers you don't have to design.
• Playbooks for every format — what to book, what to prep, what to say when people walk in.
• A route to technology partners for credits, prizes, food budgets, and speakers.
• A city page on the hub, and your events on the calendar.
• A direct line to the other City Leads and the Build Club team. The group chat is where the real answers are.

Being honest about it

It's a volunteer role. City Leads aren't paid. What we give you is the name, the playbooks, the partners, and the people — not a salary.

Nobody hands you a room, either. Your first event will be small, and small is fine — every chapter here started that way. It's spare-time work on top of whatever else you do, and the cadence matters more than the size of the room. If you want the title without the calendar, this isn't it.

Who it's for

You don't have to be an AI expert. You have to be the person who actually organises things — books the venue, sends the message, shows up early. If you're already the person builders in your city text when they want to meet other builders, that's you.

How it works

• Register here. The open call runs all month.
• We send you the application, and we'll answer anything you want to ask before you fill it in.
• We talk. Online, honest in both directions — bring the questions that don't sound good in a post.
• You start your city, or you don't. Both are real answers.
