The Challenge of the Traditional Data Scientist Role Low Impact, High Effort: Historically, Data Scientists have been bogged down by the "Execution Treadmill." Time Allocation Mismatch: The majority of time is spent on repetitive, low-leverage activities that do not directly drive strategic business growth. The Cost of Manual Labor: Excessive time spent on data collection, cleaning, feature engineering, and basic model deployment means less time for innovation and strategic consultation.
